QCYC Speaker Series is pleased to announce that the United States Coast Guard will be our featured guests at the Wednesday, March 28 General Meeting. Our guests are from Sector Puget Sound, Station Seattle.
As a very special treat, the USCG has agreed to bring one of their amazing, 45-foot RB-M (Response Boat - Medium) patrol vessels. The vessel will be tied up in the "U" and available for boarding and tours prior to the General Meeting. Bring the kids, big or small!!
We'll have the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of Station Seattle, along with one of their most experienced coxswain (vessel operator) and their lead engineer, along with the boat crew as our guests.
Topics will include:
- Common Search and Rescue cases encountered in the Puget Sound – stories shared from one of their leading coxswain
- The road to becoming a Coast Guard qualified boat crewman, coxswain, engineer
- What they do as maritime law enforcement boarding officers
- What a week at Station Seattle looks like
- Q & A
We want to pack the house and show our support of the USCG and our appreciation for their support of QCYC!
Please mark your calendars and don't miss this unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the Coast Guard!
