Houseboat Owners Complaints

I read with interest the V/C's email posting regarding wakes around the houseboats. I support the V/C in his attempt to make sure we are good neighbors and each of us should watch our wakes as we pass by the houseboats.  It makes me wonder, however, why the complaint of coming too close to their houseboats is an issue.  Houseboats by their very nature are subject to inspection by passing boats, and QCYC boats are not the only boats that cruise past these homes.  Houseboat owners live in fishbowls and passing traffic is a by-product of that lifestyle.  Moreover, we have the houseboat owners and others come by in their kayaks on a weekly basis and come within a few feet of our boats and traverse our causeways.  Should we ask that they not do that, either?

As a wood boat owner, I have asked a number of the wood boat owners if they were out on the lake on the 21st and each has said no and scratched their heads as to whom it might be.  We have a phantom boat.
