Large Lock remains closed from Lightning Strike
The large lock at the Chittenden Locks in Ballard is closed to vessel traffic due to an electrical outage from a lightning strike Oct. 11. The maintenance crew is working to restore service, but the large lock is not expected to return to service until the end of the week, at the earliest.
REMEMBER: The Annual Large Lock Closure is still scheduled from November 10th at 8:00 PM until November 24, 2010 at 5:00 PM.
