Kudos to the Treasurer

I attended the general meeting last night (10/12) and had to take a moment to thank Treasurer John Rogers for his report on the club finances.

Just enough detail to educate this newer (April 2010) member on where the money comes from and where it goes.  John also provided me with confidence that the club's finances are managed prudently and with fiscal responsibility.

I was especially impressed with the continued focus on re-building cash reserves for emergencies and/or needed and/or required capital projects.  Investing in the preservation and creation of club assets, like the in and out stations, especially during this time of low returns on conservative investments seems especially prudent.  These well maintained facilities will continue to bring in new members and provide outstanding places to gather for many years to come.
