Docks Committee: Cold Weather Considerations

It's not unusual to experience freezing temperatures in Seattle any time after early November.

With that in mind:

1) Buckets of ice melter have been placed on each dock

2) A snow shovel is available for each dock, immediately inside the main door. Please return after use.

3) The ice machines on the docks have been disconnected from water and power. Please use the ice machine in the 2nd Deck Galley until next spring.

4) It now becomes extremely important to unhook all hose connections from the water supply lines between actual uses. The additional metal exposed to the cold air, from either a threaded hose connection or a mutli-hose manifold, dramatically increases the risk of freezing in the water pipe. The Docks Committee will be unhooking hoses left connected to the supply lines, until some point next spring where all risk of water line freeze-up has passed.

Thanks for helping protect the club's largest asset,
