Long Cruise Reservations
Planning t go on portions of the long cruise to the South Sound, August 8-19. Please join any or all of the cruise. Just be sure to make reservations with me and with the marinas you will be visiting. Tell all marinas you are with the Queen City group. Here's the who, what, and when:
August 8-9 Bell Street Marina (Seattle) – Reserve a month in advance (July 7). Tell them you are part of the QCYC group. Cost: $5 for the pre-paid $5 reservation fee. Lots to do in downtown Seattle: Pike Place Market (possible tour), shopping, aquarium, galleries, shows, possible Mariners’ game (vs. Tigers). Dinner on your own.
August 10 Dock Street Marina (Tacoma) – Reserve at least two weeks in advance (July 26). Art, historical, and car museums or downtown shopping – all within walking distance. Group dinner at Spaghetti Factory.
August 11-12 Arabella’s Landing (Gig Harbor) – Reserve at least two weeks in advance (July 28). Gig has a charming downtown with shopping, in addition to a new maritime museum and Tides Tavern (site of group dinner August 11).
August 13-14 Long Branch (Filucy Bay) – anchor or first come, first-serve dock. If possible, we will schedule a winery tour here.
August 15-16 Jarrell Cove State Park– anchor, buoy (under 45’), or first come, first serve dock. A beautiful state park with lots of great trails and ample room to roam. We’ll have an old fashion hot dog roast – and, yes, s’mores, in addition to other activities. Cost: not to exceed $12.50 per person.
August 17-18 – Swantown Marina (Olympia) – Reserve at least a month in advance July 16 (honest). Cost: $5 pre-paid reservation fee. Visit Farmers’ Market, downtown, etc. Possible potluck dinner featuring Farmers Market finds.
August 19 Des Moines Marina. Reserve at least two weeks in advance (August 5). Des Moines typically has the lowest fuel prices around. Explore the park.
