Annual Large Locks Closure Meeting

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials will host the annual maintenance closure review meeting 8:30 a.m., July 17 at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks (Ballard Locks) Visitor Center at 3015 NW 54th St, Seattle, WA, 98107.

We’ll introduce new Operations Project Manager Jonathan Hofstra. He will review 2018 pump-out dates of October 29 through November 21, additional 2018 maintenance and status of tentative extended closure dates for filling culvert replacement beginning in 2019. He will also discuss plans to repair or replace aging equipment that could result in additional closures. The meeting is expected to last less than an hour. Anyone with interest in participating in the review process is welcome to attend.
