Andrews Bay is in Jeopardy

We need your help to save Andrews Bay from becoming off-limits to boaters.  A few inconsiderate boaters are ruining it for the rest of us.

This is an URGENT outreach regarding Andrews Bay on Lake Washington and the need for recreational boaters to come together and try and change the behaviors of a handful of bad actors.

RBAW and NMTA have been contacted by the mayor’s office and asked to reach out to all recreational boaters with a public education program as we approach the busy summer boating months.  They want boaters to be aware of the negative impact that noise and excessive partying have on the neighborhood and the environment and that if behaviors don’t change, we may lose our ability to anchor in the bay.  We feel this is our opportunity to get the word out that we are in jeopardy of losing access to this boating gem – and as boaters, try to change the behaviors of other boaters.

In response, RBAW is launching a boater public awareness program asking boaters to take a pledge to boat responsibly in Andrews Bay.

RESPECTFUL PLAY, SO WE CAN STAY IN THE BAY –  THE FLYER IS BELOW

  1. RBAW is first asking that you take a pledge to respectfully play in the bay:  https://form.jotform.com/211646763570055
  2. By taking the pledge, you can enter to win a $500 West Marine Shopping Spree
  3. RBAW needs area clubs to be “ANDREWS BAY AMBASSADORS” and take a few member dinghies to Andrews Bay and get people to take the pledge and hand out goodie bags to those who do (RBAW will provide you with everything you need)!
  4. ****RBAW is asking if QCYC will volunteer for an ANDREWS BAY OUTREACH on Saturday 6/26****   If anyone is willing to participate, PLEASE email commodore@queencity.org
