Boat Tabs Increase?

I was looking at the Department of Licensing website to renew one of our car tabs, so I also looked at what our boat tabs will be this year.  Ours shows an increase of a bit over 51%.  Not too big of a deal for an older boat like ours, but newer boats will feel a bit more of a bite from their boat budget.  I recall there was something floated about an increase, but I thought  it was never implemented.
