Reflection, Renewal, & Reinvention: The History & Future of the original ASUW Crew Shell House
As featured in the famous book and the upcoming movie “The Boys in the Boat” directed by George Clooney.
QCYC Speaker Series is pleased to invite you to a special “insiders” view of the history, and the future, of the historic home of the 1936 Olympic Gold Medal winning crew racing team now known as “The Boys in the Boat” during our General Meeting on Wednesday, May 24th.
Dinner starts at 6pm, the meeting starts at 7:30pm.
Join Washington Rowing Historian and coxswain, Eric Cohen and the ASUW Shell House capital campaign manager, Nicole Klein, for a revealing exploration into the incredible layers of history and legacy that the building and the rowing program holds and what lies ahead for the building’s future. You’ll hear the latest news about the soon-to-be-released Hollywood film sharing their story, directed by George Clooney, that will likely redefine how the world views Seattle.
