April 7 – Join QCYC and Other Clubs for Racing at Winslow

Calling all Captains,

We want you! Come and join us for a day on the water as an observer. On Saturday, April 7th, QCYC and SYC are co-hosting the Eagle Harbor Race at Winslow. We need observers to ride with the contestants and independently record times at the various control points.

As an observer, you will be treated as a guest on the contestants boat, receive lunch, have a great ride out around Bainbridge. Be our guest for dinner where the awards will be presented. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know other members of QCYC and other Puget Sound clubs, spend time at the outstation, and participate in a predicted log contest. Absolutely no prior experience needed.

Come by car, take the ferry, hitch a ride or bring your boat for the day or the weekend. If you have a friend of family member that is interested, let us know. We typically add one observer to each boat.

Meet at the QCYC Winslow outstation around 9:45 am for your boat assignment, meet the crew and receive the observer training. For those taking the ferry from Seattle, there is one at 8:55 am. The race portion of the day is expected to be completed around 4 pm, but hopefully you will be able to stay for dinner. More information will be known closer to race day. As it becomes available, additional info will be published at the IPBA site -- https://ipba12.wildapricot.org/
