BAH HUMBUG Boat Parade Friday, Dec 18th (CANCELED)

Christmas Ships canceled DUE TO HIGH WINDS.

BAH HUMBUG!!!

Hello all,

This is of course a non QCYC sanctioned event… And does not replace the Chet Gibson cruise on 12/12, but adds another opportunity to go boating with lights!

Among other things, this means it is not sponsored by the club, so there is no fee to participate, and no swag.

What we have here is a fun family Holiday event that we can all participate in, spread good cheer and be safe all at the same time.

Please join us December 18th at 6PM on Lake Union. We will meet at the South end of the lake. We will follow Captains Tom and Angie Johnson (Ohana) as they lead a 5 knot single file Christmas Cruise. Christmas carols will be blasting from the Ohana to let everyone know just what we are celebrating, and who the lead boat is. The route will head through the cut, sailing north. We will proceed to Matthews Beach. After the first stop at Matthews Beach, we will then turn South and make stops at Magnuson Park, Windermere and Laurelhurst before returning to Portage Bay,where we will disburse. There is no specific order to the parade, (other than the lead boat), so you can join or depart any time along the way. Feel free to invite other boats and Yacht Clubs to join in as we try to make this a festive light show.

This is a fun, family event while maintaining appropriate COVID-19 safety protocols. Please follow appropriate Federal, State and local COVID-19 safety standards during this event. You are encouraged to have only family (or socially distant guests if the state mandates allow) on your vessel. Masks are required on the docks and in the club although as of now the club is closed.

So, Decorate the boat, and yourselves of course, and come join the party!

See you on the 18th!
