Biodiesel in Older Diesel Engines

Has anyone heard if a low grade biodiesel (B5) is harmful to older diesel engines?  I've read that biodiesel can provide additional lubrication, but I've also heard that it can break down rubber gaskets.  Any information would be appreciated.
