Deadline for Daffodil Sign Up Friday March 22

Short version: QCYC needs YOU and YOUR boat at the Tacoma Yacht Club Daffodil event, being held the weekend of April 19th-21st.  Please click on the link below and register your boat to attend by the deadline, THIS Friday, March 22nd.  Other clubs already have WAY more registrations than we do....we cannot let THAT happen, can we???  NOPE!!!  The more boats we have, the better the spot we get in the TYC boat basin, hopefully all together as a group!!    http://tacomayachtclub.org/site/daffodilIndividualVesselRegistration.php

Longer but really important version:  We are a CRUISING club, so let's CRUISE!!  This is a great event, lots of fun.  We need you in the cheering section during the Trivia contest, helping our selected contestant compete against the other clubs.  We need your brain power!  We have a parade boat (Dave & Michele Bedner) to decorate and we need your help.  We also have a Flagship vessel to decorate as well (P/C Don & Judy Wilson) for our bridge officers to look snazzy.

We've purchased 4,000 daffodils to decorate these boats.  Scott Grimm and his creative crew will be breathing life into Chef Willie's awesome idea for our decorated boat entry.  We have told TYC that we'll have at least a dozen boats there....right now we have half of that.....come on people, it's time to fire up those engines and head South and show all of the boaters in Puget Sound who has the MOST cruising spirit and who is ready to have the MOST fun!

There is also a pre-Daffodil Fleet Captain cruise from Winslow (15th) to Blake Island (16th) to Gig Harbor (17th & 18th) and you can enter the cruise at whichever point works for you.  We have reservations for 10 boats at Arabella's Landing in Gig Harbor.  Please register directly with the marina at 253-851-1793.  Please also let me (Fleet Captain Barry) know you're coming along and which dates/locations you are planning to attend.  barryrutten@comcast.net or 425-949-2815  Group dinner at Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor.....don't make us eat alone!!!!

As boaters, we like to watch the weather forecast and make our final decisions on whether to go or not go based on the weather.  Makes sense.  All we're asking is that if you think you MIGHT go to Daffodil if the weather is OK (Seattle OK, not Arizona OK) then please register your boat.  http://tacomayachtclub.org/site/daffodilIndividualVesselRegistration.php

While you might get bounced around a bit or a little extra moist if the weather is not perfect, you'll be BOATING!!!!  And having fun with old and new QCYC friends!  We just had over 40 people at the St. Patrick's Day Cruise to Winslow.....it was a great time because of the PEOPLE who attended.  Please join us at Daffodil, the pre-Daffodil cruise or both.....but join us!!

Barry Rutten, Fleet Captain & Chief Cruising Cheerleader (self-appointed)
