"The Dock Light is Burned Out!"
Docks Committee is always happy to respond to any repair or maintenance needs around the marina.
We have had the same complaint twice in the last couple of months. Once on Dock 1 and then again on Dock 3. "The light on the pole at the end of the dock is not working"
In both cases, we found the same very simply remedied cause. (But it took a minute or so to puzzle it out)
Each of those lights is controlled by a circuit breaker on the shorepower pedestal closest to the fixture. When people are making and breaking connections at the pedestals, they are very properly and wisely turning off the circuit breakers. Sometimes, the circuit breaker for the dock light is not switched on again after the shorepower cable is connected or disconnected.
Should you find the light at the end of your dock non-functional, please consider checking the circuit breaker. That might save you the hassle of filing a complaint, and the inconvenience of a dark dock while waiting for a response from the Docks Committee.
