Envisioning a new Bilge Pump newsletter

(cue Marvin Gaye)

Betcha wonder how I knew

About some plan to make us blue

That there's this guy we paid before

Suddenly wants to charge a whole lot more...

I have learned from a party privy to the discussion that the current publisher printer of the Bilge Pump is asking for an enormous increase in the per copy cost for laying out the Bilge Pump, mailing to folks who claim not to have access to email (or who insist on a printed copy), mailing to the Grand 14 and providing a stack for the table on the 2nd Deck.

In my personal opinion, the publisher/printer is deliberately hoping to drive our business away. He has confided to me, privately, that he's not making enough profit off the QCYC business to justify his expenses or the diversion of his staff from more profitable pursuits.

Anybody with a good idea about a new format for the club newsletter?  This would be an ideal time to let the bridge and board know what that idea might be. I emailed a detailed proposal for a cost effective change; but nothing says my idea is the best or the only approach.

The bridge and board of QCYC are always open to member suggestions- and this would be a good to to communicate any suggestions regarding possible changes to the Bilge Pump format or distribution.
