Free boat docking computer game, but some commercial content attached

There are some free boating related computer games now available from Boat US. Here's a link to one that addresses close quarter manuevering and docking.

But be advised, the game is surrounded on the screen by a few "click here" solicitations to join Boat US, etc. You don't need to buy anything to use the free features, but it isn't really a non-commercial site and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who might be offended to see some advertising accompanying the content.

The game itself is interesting, although it just barely has any similarity to actual boat docking. Some of the general principles are about the same, but the experience doesn't transfer all that well to the screen. Still, it might be useful for noobies trying to arrive at an overall appreciaton of docking theory, or for anybody to wile away an hour on a rainy afternoon. In a trial run, I noticed the single screw trawler automatically comes with a bow thruster. (You don't have to use it). Unless there's some function not immediately apparent, you need to continuously "goose" the shifter rather than leave it in position until it would make sense to change the gear selected. it keeps defaulting back to neutral. I also noticed that you can accomplish only a semi-accurate result and still earn a congratulatory score.
