Large Lock Chamber to Close August 28th
Large Lock Chamber to Close August 28th
The large lock chamber will be closed to boat traffic beginning August 28 at 9 p.m. and will reopen at, or before, 9 a.m. August 29.
The closure is needed to repair the hydraulic arm connection on the number 1 south miter gate. The miter gates are the large gates that open and close to let vessels in or out of the chamber.
The small lock will remain open.
As a reminder, masks are required by boat occupants while using the Chittenden Locks. Thank you for your continued cooperation to help keep us and other boaters safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next scheduled locks closure is scheduled to begin October 15 for the Stoney Gate Valve replacement project. A full list of scheduled closures can be found here: https://www.nws.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Locks-and-Dams/Chittenden-Locks/Closures/
