Notice of Member Passing – Bob Fisher

We are sad to report the passing of Bob Fisher, member #296 on September 13th.  He was 94 years old at the time of his death.  Bob, a PHD in Materials Science, was an amazing man and was still running his company, Lab/Cor Materials in Ballard, until he passed away!  Lab/Cor Materials is a materials testing company including fuels and marine engine oil. 

Bob joined Queen City in 2010 and served as our RBAW representative for several years through 2020. He generated data for RBAW, from a very detailed in depth analysis of boating traffic through the ship canal, that was a significant factor in persuading the authorities not to implement a proposed fixed opening and closing schedule for the Ballard & Fremont Bridges.  The proposed rule was unworkable and would have caused significant disruption to boaters without reducing traffic delays caused by bridge operations. Thank you Bob!

An 8-Bell burial will be held for Bob’s family in the near future.
