In Memoriam - Don Perkins

IN MEMORIAM – DON PERKINS #018

It is with sadness we report that Don Perkins has crossed the bar. Don was Life member #18 and Joined QCYC in 1971.

Larry Downs remembers him fondly and writes: "The first boat I recall that Don and Virginia had was the Gorgeous 42’ Jensen called Ila I. She was powered by a 175HP Cummins Diesel. The bright work on that boat was stunning and always top notch. Their next boat was the 40’ Transpacific Eagle named Springtide. Chuck Gould now has that boat. Don always had a smile that would light up the room!"

Mel Whitlinger fondly remembers Don as a great friend and smart with a cerebral nature. The Whitlingers cruised with Don and Virginia up to the Broughtons, Bull Harbour and Alert Bay areas.

Don will be missed by all that knew him.
