In Memoriam - Dr. Milton Walter

In Memoriam

Notice of Passing – Captain Milton (Milt) Walter     1927 - 2021

We are very sad to report the passing of Milt Walter DDS.  Dr. Walter was a well-known dentist starting his practice on Old Main Street in Bellevue in1953 and practiced dentistry until 2000.  Milt joined QCYC in 1976 and was member # 038 when he passed.  Milt leaves a legacy to our club as his daughter Lora and her husband Bill Cyr are members.

Dr. Walter is remembered around the club as a well-liked, quiet and very pleasant man.  His boat, the “Sweet Sue” is a gorgeous 61’ Tolly to which Milt had made several significant modifications including extending the stern making it into a 69’ Tolly, added curved stairs down to the swim step and replaced the teak handrails with stainless steel rails!

He is remembered by all log racers because he and Sue own the home on the Medina shoreline that has a Statue of Liberty on the roof – a useful landmark for racers!

He and Sue plus family members spent many days enjoying our outstation in Eagle Harbor and socializing with other members.

He will be missed by all that knew him.  More of Milt’s story will be published in the Bilge Pump.
