In Memoriam Larry Dubia
We are saddened to report that Captain Larry Dubia crossed the bar Tuesday June 28th at 96 years old. Larry was an amazing man who joined Queen City when he was 80 years old and loved participating in all kinds of club activities! He maintained his high spirited, friendly and positive attitude his whole life. He was our unofficial “Good and Welfare Joke Teller” at every meeting for many years – sometimes a groaner but always fun, Larry always entertained the membership.
He loved to make people happy - his ministry was to handout small cards to anyone he met to encourage them to feel valued – the cards read:
“You are unique. You are wonderful. You are important to the world”
Dorothy reports that many recipients have told her they kept the card and carry it at all times in their purse or wallet. What a great outlook on life Larry had!
