In Memoriam: Sylvia Timmerman

I am so sad to have to report that Sylvia Timmerman passed away yesterday, the morning of Memorial Day.  She and Dick shared a love of boating all during their 28 years of marriage and were partners in logracing and cruising the entire time.  Their cruise to Alaska in 2010 on the Alaska 1000 log race was sheer joy for both of them.  Dick always said they were “Two peas in a pod”

Sylvia was a welcoming, kind and friendly personality and had many good friends within Queen City and also within the log racing community throughout Puget Sound.

When Dick & Sylvia went through the Chairs starting in 1997, Sylvia was an inseparable support to Dick the entire time culminating with his Commodore year of 1999.  Sylvia was a lovely and gracious First Lady and represented our club in a wonderful manner!
