New Member Outstation Orientation Returns!!

New Member Outstation Orientation Returns

The Education Committee is pleased to announce the return of the very popular QCYC New Member Bainbridge Outstation Orientation Cruise-In to be held the weekend of May 19-21 at your Bainbridge Island Outstation.

If you’ve joined QCYC within the past 36 months or so, and haven’t attended an outstation orientation, we invite you to attend this Cruise-In by boat (preferred) or by car (ferries are boats, right?) and learn about your Bainbridge Island outstation.

We want to make you feel completely welcome and familiar with the facilities, customs and opportunities presented by this jewel of a property.  There’ll be a detailed dock, grounds and building tour (old timer secrets revealed) that’ll make you an expert on all things outstation in no time!  We’ll even show you how to light the indoor BBQ without blowing up the building or melting your eyebrows!

We also want to help you become familiar with the town, so you’ll want to join in the very popular and highly competitive team photo scavenger hunt, with great QCYC Ship’s Store and other prizes!

A tradition of this event that encourages volunteerism and gives you an opportunity to contribute to the outstation in a long-lasting way is the Group Project…the details are super-secret until you’re on site, but here’s a hint: bring some clothes that can get a little dirty.  Don’t worry….you’ll be very proud of your contribution and make new friends!

There will be group meals and lots of opportunity to get to know your fellow new members and your Outstation.  We may even give you a few minutes to relax on your boat!

A detailed agenda is being developed and will be shared soon. For now, hold the date and sign up!

Please RSVP for the event on the QCYC website, so we can plan for meals and events.  The link to the sign-up form can be found on the club calendar.

We had to take a break during the pandemic (boo!), so we expect a big turnout this year.  In the past, we received so much great feedback that this was a fun and educational event. Most of all, it made new members feel very comfortable to come on out to the outstation on their own, which is what we want you to do!  Join us!!
