Night Temps Dropping into the 30's, Winterizing the Marina

Overnight temps are starting to dip into the 30's.

The Docks Committee will be winterizing the marina.

How does this affect our members?

1. Ice machines on the docks will be de-commissioned until all danger of freezing is past (typically March). Ice for coolers, etc, is available in the galley on the second deck of the clubhouse.

2. Buckets of ice melter will be stationed immediately inside the door to each dock, and also about halfway down the length of the dock. If you see frost on the dock, feel free to sprinkle some ice melter to ensure safe footing.

3. Please remember to unhook your water hose from the main supply line when not actually drawing water.

4. The "freeze valves" at the end of each dock will open to dump water into the lake when temperatures drop to 32 degrees. The water pouring off the end of the dock is normal during the coldest temperatures. Keeping the water running through the supply pipe prevents freeze up. The automatic valves should close again when the temperature rises above freezing.
