Not too early to be thinkin'n about December

According to Commodore-elect Bedner, it's most likely going to fall to me to help the Chair of the Seafair Holiday Cruise recruit boats and skippers for the event.

First Sunday in December.

Why not put it on the calendar now? You won't be disappointed when you discover you booked something *else* that day instead.

Guaranteed to be one of the most rewarding afternoons you will spend all year.

Volunteers won't be subjected to friendly pressure from the "draft board."  :-)

Also in December; the Chet Gibson parade. Last year, we were very short of turn boats. It would be nice to be able to do both nights, as per our long standing tradition. If we don't get an adequate number of turn boats for both nights, we may have to cut back to a single night. Some of our traditional turnboats have been sold, or the owners relocated to AZ for the winter.

We'll need turn boat commitments earlier this year. If we cut back to a single night due to lack of participation, that will change the permit process. We apply for the permit in early October. That's only 90 days away.

New members would be especially welcome to participate. It's fun, and easy, to be a turn boat.

Please consider saying "yes" when asked to parade or otherwise participate in this event.
