A note from your boat

Hello there.......this is your boat speaking to you.

I’ve noticed the days are getting much longer, the flowers are blooming and the air is warmer.  Spring boating time is here!!!

So I want to encourage you to take advantage of the Fleet Captain South Sound Mini-Cruise taking place April 16-18 prior to the Daffodil Festival at Tacoma Yacht Club on April 19-21.

Just for fun, I took a look at the sunrise & sunset times for April 17th.....more than 14 hours of daylight.  Yahoo!!!  Sunset is after 8pm!!!

So you’ve got a few weeks still to get me “ship shape” so I can take you and our crew on a fun little spring cruise.  I’d like to play with my fellow boats!

I’ve read the posted flyer and I’d ask that you do the same.

It looks like you if you want to, you can bring me to Winslow the prior weekend, April 12/13/14 and if you do a little work at the Outstation Cleanup, that guy with the big boat that runs the Outstation will let you leave me there without the requirement to sleep aboard if you need to go home for a day or so.  Then you can come back (I’ll be waiting) and head out on the cruise to Blake Island and Gig Harbor without having to go back and forth through the locks.  How cool is that???

There’s a slip being held for me (I mean us) at Arabella’s Landing marina in Gig Harbor.  I don’t have thumbs, so please call them at 253-851-1793 and reserve my (I mean our) slip directly with the marina office.  No pre-pay or reservation fee, so keep that wallet in your pocket until it’s time to buy some low cost fuel on the way home at Des Moines Marina.  Don’t worry....I’ve got your back!

The Fleet Captain tells me he’d love to see you over at Winslow on Monday night for a casual group meal and a little pre-cruise planning if you can make it.  If you want to head straight over the Blake Island, he says that’s cool too and he’ll see you there on Tuesday.  The gang will head to Gig Harbor Wednesday and stay until Friday.  I hear a Tides Tavern group dinner is planned....I’m jealous! Then those attending Daffodil weekend will make the short jump over to Tacoma Yacht Club.

One more thing.....I just checked and even though the deadline was March 22nd for Daffodil registration, the registration form at TYC is still up and I’ll bet you could still register and join the group.  Here’s the sign up link:

It’s been a long, wet winter.  Let’s go boating!!!!

Thank for your time and consideration of my request.

Love,

Your faithful boat
