NOTICE OF PROPOSED BYLAWS CHANGES

The Board of Trustees of Queen City Yacht Club has approved an amendment to the bylaws, based on a membership drive recommendation by the Planning and Finance Committee, for a vote by the general membership.  Commodore Bob Stettner has called for this vote at the second meeting of the month on October 23, 2013.  Per Article VI of the Queen City Yacht Club Bylaws, this vote requires two-thirds majority for passage.
Impacted Bylaw:  Article III, Section 4
 
Purpose:  Allow the Board of Trustees flexibility to offer incentives to prospective members to achieve and maintain full membership.
 
Existing Language:
 
Section 4: Initiation Fee. The initiation fee, $3,000 plus taxes, if any, must be paid to the Treasurer, in cash or in a manner acceptable to the Board of Trustees before the application can be acted upon as provided in Section 3.

The initiation fee, $3,000 plus taxes, if any, must be paid to the Treasurer, in cash or in a manner acceptable to the Board of Trustees before the application can be acted upon as provided in Section 3.  In the event the enrollment of Active Membership is not at full capacity as defined in Article III, Section 2(A)(1), the Board of Trustees shall have the discretion to modify the initiation fee, the manner of payment, or take other measures it sees fit to return Active Membership to full capacity.
