Opening Day and Children: Why a time limit on the club hours for children?

It was great to see the agend for another QCYC opening day!  We look forward to opening day every year. This year schedule had posted a time limit for Children at the club house.  A couple of questions for the members:

  1. Is this a policy change for QCYC club house events?
  2. Is there a reason why children are no longer welcome at the club after 9 pm?
  3. Has there been an issue with children at prevous QCYC events?
  4. What is the age policy?  Are we talking children under 18?  21?
  5. Shouldn't a policy change like this be discussed by members?

QCYC is a family based club.  Many our current members has been raised in our club house, dancing at opening day.  Many of our newer members have joined the club because it is a good safe place to raise our kids.   This change in opening day policy has caught us un prepared.  Many of us have already made plans to meet at the club house with our family's and dance the night away.

Please let us know if we need to make different plans for opening day?

best regards
