It’s June 11, a Saturday morning

8:30 is when we arrive.

Soft mossy dock planks turn yellow and green

Rotting wherever you tread

Painting and patching and wiring and such

This week we’ll work at that wide spot on Dock One

Where summer night parties so typically thrive

Pulling up old rotten planks for replacement

And keeping our standards quite high

At lunchtime sandwiches wait on the bar

Free food for all who have labored

Maybe a short shift til mid-afternoon
