Random Acts of Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness
I just want to give a big "Shout-Out" to Bob Schrader for a totally unexpected random act of kindness.......
I was standing in line at the coffee shop kiosk near the Line Kiln Cafe at Roche Harbor yesterday and I was going to get some fresh made donuts. It was about 7:30 AM and I wasn't even fully awake yet. There was one other person in line in front of me.......I waited as he was ordering coffee and something to eat......sort of listening, but not really paying attention......
All of a sudden, I heard a "Sir, what are you having. Go ahead and order and I will pay for it" I realized the guy in front of me in line was talking to me and he was offering to pay for my order! I declined and thanked him and told him that I hadn't even decided what I was going to get. He insisted once again on paying for my order and once gain I said thanks but no.....
I looked closer at this guy (he was wearing a mask) and I realized he looked somewhat familiar. I realized it was "Bob" from QCYC. I know he didn't recognize me.....he just was offering to pay for a strangers cofffee and donuts! I remembered meeting Bob on the dock at Deer Harbor at some point in the past helping moving boats around.....but again, this was a while ago. I didn't remember his last name so I had to ask Sandy Werner who he was in order to write this.
Bob......I just want to say thank you for your kind offer yesterday. It was totally unexpected and totally unecessary. But it made me feel good to be a part of QCYC! Thanks! I will pay it forward the next time I am in line for donuts!
