Riveting, detailed version: The Fleet Captain Summer Cruise survey indicated a high level of interest in cruising in the South Sound. We plan on a full blown South Sound cruise in either June or September, based on member feedback, which you can provide to me at any time. Ready.....set......feedback!!!
For now, please join us on a South Sound "mini" cruise.....destination.....GIG HARBOR!
Your Fleet Captain and Fleet Admiral (Barry & Colleen Rutten) will head over to Winslow for the Outstation Spring Clean Up on April 13th & 14th. The Outstation Chairman will allow you to keep your boat at Winslow, without the requirement to sleep aboard, if you'd like to leave it there to be in position to start the South Sound Cruise the following week without having to sleep aboard. Nightly charges will still apply....the Treasurer wants his cash!
We'll be "working from boat" on Monday and probably grabbing a few provisions from the Town & Country Market in preparation for our departure on Tuesday for Blake Island. We're thinking a little social gathering over shared appetizers Monday night would be fun, with discusisons and plans for the cruise.
We'll spend one night on Blake Island (group trail walk?) and then we'll head to Gig Harbor Wednesday & Thursday. We're planning on a group dinner at Tides Tavern, probably Thursday night.
We have 10 slips reserved at Arabella's Landing Marina in Gig Harbor. Plenty of big slips and a long side tie dock with a big turning basin, so bring your boat down with no worries.
Call the marina directly to reserve your slip. 253-851-1793 http://arabellaslanding.com/ They have a very well stocked marine supply store right at the marina, in case you need anything for your boat, and very clean restrooms/showers.
We'll be heading to the Daffodil Festival on Friday. Please feel free to participate in any portion of the South Sound Mini Cruise, even if you're not headed to Daffodil. You can join in at Winslow, Blake Island or just Gig Harbor.
The key is to join us and have some fun! Des Moines Marina has that nice low priced fuel for your boat on the way home! Questions or RSVP: barryrutten@comcast.net or 425-949-2815
