Twelve Witches in the Parking Lot on August 18

One of our fellow members characterized any attention to or complaint about vehicles parked in the Members Parking Lot without the required QCYC parking tags as a "witch hunt". (See Holiday Parking at the Mainstation thread).

Well, hunting is pretty good.

Out of 55 vehicles parked on the lot at 1:00 PM on August 18, 13 of them, or nearly 1/4 of the cars on the lot, didn't bother to display the required tag. Sure, maybe one or two of the cars belonged to somebody working on a boat, etc, but it would be safe to say that about 10 of the cars, (and perhaps only 20 percent of the actual members parked on the lot), were members or friends of members disregarding the rules.

The following vehicles were on the lot today, without a QCYC hang tag:

Black Ford F150  C6988713

Silver Honda Accord AIA8794

Bronze BMW AJS9208

White Honda CRV ABR6802

Grey Mercedes Benz  188UAT

White Chevy Silverado B54378Y

Black Lexus AKG2849

Silver Mercedes 240D 96524 "Collector Vehicle"

Black Ford Excursion  BOATTEK

Black Acura MDX ADXG6765

Maroon Isuzu Trooper  B95531P

There was another vehicle as well. The member who owned that car saw me writing down license numbers and said, "Okay, I confess. I do have two vehicles on the lot. But if I thought it was going to be busy, I would have parked it up on the street. Please don't put my car on the list."  I said I wouldn't, and I didn't, but that doesn't change the fact that it was there and that the member was knowingly violating the rules.

The same member said he recognized that parking got tight at times. He pointed out a couple of vehicles on the list that he said had been parked there for "weeks" without a parking permit. (Most likely some witches who aren't QCYC members out cruising with other folks who are).
