Work Slip #3 back up and running....

Even if you're not going to be using the slip, feel free to walk by and "Ooh" and "Ahh"  She's a pretty thing.

Thanks to all the Docks Committee members who turned out to remove the old work slip and install the new one.

Ron Stevenson and Walt Braithwaite showed up on both days, so special thanks for the extra effort.

We ran into a little snag removing the old slip. We forgot to account for an iron "yoke" that tied the two loose ends of the old slip together- and effectively anchored the old slip to the lake bottom. Using a couple of dinghies, we were unable to exert enough pressure on the old slip to pull it away from the pier.

Solution? We sawed off the outer ends of both legs, dragged the remaining workslip over for a temporary tie up under the 520 viaduct, and then yanked the loose ends and yoke out of position.  We didn't get too far before we hit a shallow spot and the two ends, still tied together with the iron yoke, hung up for good.

Enjoy Work Slip #3, it's a good looking and soundly built improvement to our marina.
